One of America's most beloved cities, Savannah, boasts a historical and scenic backdrop like no other city in the South! Join us on a 6 night/ 7 day charming trip through the South! Our first highlight is the quaint city of Franklin, TN. If you’re looking to slow down and experience southern sophistication, Franklin is just the place for you! From the nationally-recognized historic Main Street, Civil War history, to shopping, you will find yourself getting lost in a new adventure among a picturesque setting. While in Franklin we visit the Carnton House. With Franklin being the site of the Battle of Franklin, Carnton served as the largest field hospital in the area for hundreds of soldiers. There’s a reason the heart of this storybook town has been designated a Great American Main Street and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This gem that runs through the heart of a 16-block historic district preserves Franklin's southerly heritage, yet radiates a sophistication that’s inspiring and inviting while brimming with history, music, shopping, and of course Southern hospitality. Then, we are off to Chattanooga where we spend two nights taking in the beautiful and historical sites of this sweet city on the river! Nature’s beauty is all around us- and even sometimes beneath us! Located 1,120 feet beneath Earth’s surface, Ruby Falls dazzles visitors as the nation’s largest and deepest waterfall open to the public. Named one of the Ten Most Incredible Cave Waterfalls on Earth, the sparkling 145-foot underground waterfall is located at Lookout Mountain, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. While at Lookout Mountain the outdoor adventure isn’t complete without a visit to one of Chattanooga’s best attractions- Rock City! Rock City is a true gem of nature featuring massive ancient rock formations, gardens with over 400 native plant species, and breathtaking “See 7 States” panoramic views. Set in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, Chattanooga offers sweeping views of the Tennessee River, where we will enjoy a dinner cruise on the Southern Belle River Boat. With live entertainment, good food, and views of the mountains meeting the river-our time in Chattanooga is the perfect blend of outdoors and relaxation. We continue the tour with three nights in Savannah! Upon arriving in Savannah, you will have time to discover the nationally recognized restaurant scene and exquisitely preserved historic district, and see why this southern city is a rare combination of sophistication, living history, natural beauty, and world class hospitality. We will check into our hotel- the Courtyard Marriott Downtown Savannah Historic District-this afternoon. You can walk anywhere from our hotel, situated inside Savannah’s Victorian historic district, with its 22 park-like squares, one of the largest designated National Historic Districts in the U.S. Over the next two days you will get to tour all of the highlights at your own pace with an included Hop-on-Hop-Off Trolley Pass. Be sure to hop-off at the points of interest surrounding the book “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil” and the filming of “Forrest Gump.” You will also view historic buildings, mansions, churches and notable homes. As we depart Savannah, the fun continues with a spirited overnight in Alabama! With it’s beautiful Antebellum architecture, waterfront views, cobblestone streets, and pure Southern charm, Savannah is a jewel not to be missed- join us as we discover Savannah and the South’s scenic small towns!
