John Wayne Wild Western Weekend 11/12/2021 9am $495.00 (Double)
Rustle up your cowboy hat and boots and join us as we head to Texas for a wild western weekend! Our first stop is Southfork Ranch. Nestled on 357 acres of ranch land, Southfork is the prime location of the Dallas set and home to the famous Ewing Mansion. Go on a guided tour of Southfork Ranch, then have a true Cowboy Chuckwagon Dinner, complete with cowboys singing campfire songs, and ranch hands telling cowfolk stories. It’s a true western experience that’s sure to make for a memorable night. We will spend two nights in the Dallas area. Then we're off to tour the Presidential Library and Museum of George Bush, who often associated his presidency with the story of the mythic cowboy, a powerful concept in American culture. Bush's cowboy persona, emphasized visually, prompted widespread debate about his leadership style and approach to national problems, particularly terrorism. Museum exhibits include A Nation Under Attack, Life in the White House, the interactive Decision Points Theater, a full-size replica of the White House Oval Office, and a massive 20-foot-tall, 360-degree LED screen showing high-definition multimedia clips blending art, history, and entertainment. After our time at the Presidential Library and lunch we head a tad further west to the Stockyards of Fort Worth. Further amplifying its rich cowboy culture, The Stockyards is debuting a new exhibit that pays tribute to one of the silver screen's biggest western stars, John Wayne. See the vast selection of The Duke's personal effects and movie memorabilia. The John Wayne: An American Experience exhibit encompasses more than 10,000 square feet, and takes you on an intimate tour of the life of the screen legend. Starting with his early childhood and career, each room highlights an aspect of Wayne’s life. Afterward, you'll enjoy time and dinner on your own in the Stockyards. Be sure to check out of their famous steakhouses, or western saloons. Our final day includes one last unique western experience, a visit to The Oak Meadow Ranch and Whitehorse Steakhouse. The Whitehorse is located on Oak Meadow Ranch, a working ranch and set to resemble an Old West town, is filled with beautiful landscaping, people, friendly animals and a serene sense of peace and tranquility that you'd have to see to believe. The meal includes a private ranch tour, live entertainment, a cowboy mounted shooting demonstration, & a personal meet and greet with exotic pets. This unique setting may be perhaps the most memorable meal you may ever have. Price includes roundtrip motorcoach transportation, 3 days/ 2 nights lodging, 4 meals (2 breakfast & 1 lunch and 1 dinner), Southfork Ranch Tour and Chuckwagon Dinner, Bush Presidential Library Tour and Admission, John Wayne Experience, Fort Worth Stockyards, and visit and lunch at Oak Meadow Ranch and The Whitehorse Steakhouse, tour of ranch and animals, and all taxes.
