Picture Perfect Southwest featuring: The Grand Canyon, Santa Fe, Sedona and Palo Duro Canyon! 7/10/2020 8:30 am $1,985.00 (Double)
Experience the wonder and magic of the Southwest as we journey to the Grand Canyon, Santa Fe, Sedona and finally Palo Dura Canyon! From Red Rock Country to the Grand Canyon we discover the depths of the colors, shadows and formations on a tour where you will experience jaw-dropping scenery. Our tour begins with a visit to the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City- the museum is America’s premier institution of Western history, art and culture. The Museum collects an internationally renowned collection of Western art and artifacts and is the perfect starting point to learn about the enduring legacy of the American West. We will overnight in Oklahoma before departing for our two-night stay in Santa Fe the following morning. Santa Fe, New Mexico is a city unlike any other, truly living up to its tagline, The City Different, at every turn. With legendary history and culture around every corner, an art scene that spans from traditional to contemporary, award-winning cuisine that’s as eclectic as it is sumptuous, and countless experiences to encounter, you’re sure to love Santa Fe! While in Santa Fe we will learn about the cultured history through a local step-on guide. As the cultural hotspot of the Southwest our guide will take us on a journey through the treasured art and architecture and compelling history of Santa Fe. Spend time shopping and dining this afternoon as you make your way through the charming historic downtown, before we head to the famous Georgia O’Keeffe Museum. A visit to the O’Keeffe Museum offers insight not only into the artist’s paintings, but also her creative process and the light and landscape that inspired her. After our time in Santa Fe, we continue our tour at the jaw-dropping Grand Canyon! Our two-night stay in Williams, Arizona at the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel is the gateway to our “grand” adventure! Experience the luxury of a bygone era as we take a train ride to the famed Grand Canyon! Enjoy these classic air-conditioned 1950s-era passenger cars while strolling musicians roam the cars playing the tunes of yesteryear. We will spend the day exploring the South Rim on a guided tour with an included lunch! From lookout to lookout the views are ever-changing and more beautiful than the last! Our adventure continues in stunning Red Rock Country-Sedona, Arizona. Nestled among a geological wonderland, Sedona promises to be a highlight of the tour! Multi-hued stone formations jut upwards from the high desert floor creating a vivid, mesmerizing setting that changes hourly with the light. Our narrated trolley tour will take us to the famous Chapel of the Holy Cross, to formations such as Thunder Mountain, Chimney Rock and into the towering red rock walls of Boynton and Fay Canyons located within the Coconino National Forrest. Then, visit attractions such as the Sedona Heritage Museum-a museum located on the National Register of Historic Places and invites visitors to learn about the history of Sedona! In a city known for its dining and shopping, no trip to Sedona would be complete without time at Tlaquepaque Arts and Shopping Village. Nestled beneath the shade of the sycamores on the banks of beautiful Oak Creek in Sedona, Tlaquepaque is the most distinctive Sedona shopping experience to be found in the Southwest. Authentically fashioned after a traditional Mexican village, Tlaquepaque, meaning the "best of everything," has been a Sedona landmark since the 1970's. We end our time in Sedona with a tour and wine tasting at one of the areas most popular wineries. As we begin our journey back home, our tour will take us to Albuquerque, New Mexico for one night, before we arrive at the beautiful Palo Duro Canyon near Amarillo, Texas! The grand finale of our trip takes us to the SECOND LARGEST Canyon in the United States to be a part of a Texas tradition dating back to the 1960’s. Experience the famous TEXAS Outdoor Musical located in the Pioneer Amphitheater- carved out of and nestled into a natural basin in the majestic Palo Duro Canyon. The show comes alive as a lone horseman, carrying the flag of the great state of Texas appears atop a 600 foot cliff, signaling the beginning of the most spectacular outdoor musical drama in the nation. Delight in singing, dancing, good ol’ Texas humor, and a spectacular firework show that lights up the Texas sky!
