Travel with us to New York, home of the best entertainment, beautiful sites and amazing cuisine! Our hotel in New York will be in mid-Manhattan and in the heart of all the action--within walking distance of Times Square! You will have time on your own to explore the area, but will also see all the must-sees with the tour group. We will visit the 9/11 Memorial, and also cruise to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Enjoy your up close experience to the Statue of Liberty and embrace the history and trace your family roots that is held within Ellis Island. The National September 11th Memorial is a tribute of remembrance and honor to the nearly 3,000 people killed in the terror attacks of 9/11 at the World Trade Center site, the Pentagon and the World Trade Center bombing in 1993. This beautifully designed Memorial features twin reflecting pools and the names of every person who died in the attacks. We will also tour Wall Street, home of the New York Stock Exchange and the First Trinity Church, which dates back to 1698 and has continued to serve as a place of peace and deep rooted history. You will also enjoy NYC’s most spectacular view--The Top of the Rock, featuring a dramatic view of New York City that you just can’t get anywhere else. Take it all in as you explore three floors of indoor and outdoor decks that offer stunning panoramas of the city’s energy and beauty. After we depart Manhattan, we will venture to West Point, New York, for the Military Academy Tour. The United States Military Academy’s mission is to educate, train and inspire the Corps of Cadets so that each graduate is a commissioned leader of character. Lunch is included inside the historic Thayer hotel at MacArthur’s Riverview Restaurant, a renowned West Point restaurant. With its Gothic windows and Old World charm, it sets the stage for a truly unique dining experience. Then we're off to Corning! With rolling hills, pristine lakes, and exquisite beauty as far as the eye can see, it’s easy to understand how Corning & the Finger Lakes Region has captivated the hearts of many. While in Corning we will dine at Sorge’s --a family owned and operated restaurant providing the finest Italian/American food in a family atmosphere. Of course our time in Corning includes a stop at the Corning Museum of Glass where you will see more than 35 centuries of glass artistry in the galleries, explore glass innovations, and watch live glass demos! You will also have an opportunity to make your own glass. We will then take the Seneca Lake Trail Drive whose spectacular beauty and glacially-deposited soils inspired early grape cultivation and the birth of America’s wine industry in 1860. That is why we will also include a stop at Watkins Glen State Park gorge – the most famous of the Finger Lakes State Parks, with a reputation for leaving visitors spellbound. The gorge path winds under and over waterfalls and through the spray of Cavern Cascade. You will hear all about the geological history of the area and how the gorges were formed. Afterward, a visit to Glenora Winery is included, which offers up delicate wines and picturesque views. As Seneca Lake’s very first winery and a staple of the region for nearly 40 years, Glenora wines have won numerous awards. All of the wines are made and bottled right on the premises. Later that night, we will enjoy Seneca Harbor Station--with an included dinner and sunset cruise. And finally our time in the area would not be complete if we didn't include lunch and a visit to the New York Wine and Culinary Center – an interesting stop that will surely be a highlight! Speaking of highlights.....we save the best for last..and travel to New York's most famous attraction--Niagara Falls. First we'll stop at Niagara Power Vista. Imagine being able to reach out your hand and touch the power emanating from Niagara Falls. A trip to the Niagara Power Project can emulate that very experience!
