Painted Canyons of the West featuring: Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, Monument Valley, Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park and More!! 9/5/2019 08:00 $1,875.00 (Double)
From winding rivers, wide open spaces, to Canyon vistas and valleys as far and wide as the eye can see- our tour out west features FOUR out of the FIVE MIGHTY UTAH NATIONAL PARKS! First, our journey brings us to Colorado Springs, CO where you will spend two nights exploring some of Colorado’s most beautiful views and historical attractions. Visit the Air Force Academy where the Visitor Center serves as the gateway to the United States Air Force Academy. The center provides information on Academy history, cadet life and campus attractions. Then, we are off to experience America’s most spectacular rail journey aboard the Royal Gorge Route Railroad. In 1905, President Teddy Roosevelt described it best as “the trip that bankrupts the English language!” Come experience not just a memorable train ride through the Colorado Rockies, but also enjoy classes of service where they combine gorgeous scenery, great service, with delicious food, sourced locally and prepared fresh right on board the train. After our two nights in Colorado, we head to Moab, Utah. Moab’s year-round access to thousands of square miles of amazing red rock landscapes, along with the cool waters of the Colorado River, has made it one of the most sought-after destinations in the American Southwest. While in Moab, marvel at stunning arches in Arches National Park, which contains the world’s largest concentration of natural sandstone arches. Although over 2,000 arches are located within the park, it also contains an astounding variety of other geological formations. Colossal sandstone fins, massive balanced rocks, soaring pinnacles and spires humble visitors as you explore the park’s viewpoints. Enjoy an included lunch by the Colorado River, before we continue our day in Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse State Park. Canyonlands is the largest national park in Utah, and its diversity staggers the imagination. It is a unique destination full of spires, buttes, arches, rivers and most spectacular of all, vast canyons. Then, take in the unmatched views at Dead Horse State Park- one of Utah’s most spectacular state parks. The view from Dead Horse Point is one of the most photographed scenic vistas in the world. Towering 2,000 feet above the Colorado River, the overlook provides a breathtaking panorama of Canyonlands’ sculpted pinnacles and buttes. Our day ends with a tour highlight- the Sound and Light Cruise down the Colorado River! For an ol’ time show and the finishing touch on a perfect day, enjoy a cowboy-style Dutch oven dinner and a slow moving evening boat ride on a calm part of the Colorado River. It is by far one of the most unique sound and light shows in the world. It has been hailed by many as “the highlight of our vacation.” Your evening begins as you are served a cowboy-style Dutch oven dinner in a dining room overlooking the Colorado River. After dinner, you will be a guest on a flat-bottomed boat as you head up river with a knowledgeable and entertaining guide who will point out things of interest and ignite your imagination. Once darkness settles in, the formal part of the evening begins with 40,000 watts of natural light illuminating the canyon wall. Lights, shadows, music, and narration make the stories of the canyon’s formation, creation, and history come to life on the walls above the river—as learned from the early settlers of the area. The Canyonlands by Night and Day Sound and Light Show is a not-to-be-missed unique experience and a great end to a perfect day in Moab. Following Moab, we continue our Mighty West Tour by experiencing the “Eighth Wonder of the World-“Monument Valley. Monument Valley provides perhaps the most enduring and definitive images of the American West. The isolated red mesas and buttes surrounded by empty, sandy desert have been filmed and photographed countless times over the years for movies, adverts and holiday brochures. Our tour of Monument Valley with a Native Navajo guide is one of the most authentic experiences you will ever enjoy. Then, we continue to Kanab, Utah where we will visit TWO more National Parks- Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park. Both parks awe visitors with spectacular geological formations and brilliant colors. From the towering hoodoos, narrow fins, and natural bridges, to massive sandstone cliffs of cream, pink, and red that soar into a brilliant blue sky- the beauty that surrounds us is some of the finest in the world! Our tour doesn’t end there though… as we begin our journey home, take in more beautiful views aboard an Antelope Canyon scenic boat tour! The Antelope Canyon Tour provides an up-close opportunity to view the narrow, colorful, and sculpted geology of the lower end of Lake Powell. Having gained worldwide notoriety, Antelope Canyon is a photographer’s paradise, the contrast between the waters of Lake Powell and the Navajo Sandstone are an awe-inspiring way to spend our day as we begin our journey home. Our next two evenings will be spent in overnight destinations true to the West’s culture. The tour is mighty and so are the views- don’t miss this jaw-dropping scenery that is unrivaled and promises to create picturesque moments that will be remembered forever.
